Defect
On trucks equipped with the 4V20-type engine, the engine ECU exhaust brake control program is incorrect. As a result, the exhaust brake drive gear may strike the stopper at speeds exceeding the design limit. If this condition repeats, the exhaust brake drive gear and intermediate gear sustain damage, rendering the exhaust brake inoperative and illuminating the engine warning lamp.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine ECU exhaust brake control program to the corrected specification and replace the exhaust brake assembly with a new unit.

状況
４Ｖ２０ 型エンジンを搭載したトラックの排気ブレーキにおいて、エンジンＥＣＵ の制御プログラムが不適切なため、排気ブレーキ駆動用ギヤがストッパーに対して想定を超える速度で当たることがある。そのため、当該事象が繰り返されると排気ブレーキ駆動用ギヤ及び中間ギヤが破損して排気ブレーキが不作動になり、エンジン制御警告灯が点灯する。
改善措置
全車両、エンジンＥＣＵの排気ブレーキ制御プログラムを対策品に書き換えると共に、排気ブレーキ一式を新品に交換する。
