Defect
On medium-duty trucks, the ABS ECU software contains an error. If the ignition key is turned quickly at engine startup, the ECU may incorrectly detect a brake pedal power supply short circuit and cut power to the brake pedal circuit. This causes the brake lamps to go dark and disables the ABS, ESP (electronic stability program), collision mitigation brake system, and EZGO (hill-start assist). The brake system warning light illuminates, placing the vehicle out of conformance with the Safety Standards for braking systems. In addition, the cruise control cannot be cancelled by pressing the brake pedal.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the ABS ECU with the corrected/updated software.

状況
中型トラックにおいて、ＡＢＳ ＥＣＵのソフトウェアが不適切なため、エンジン始動時にキーを素早く回すと、ブレーキペダル電源短絡エラーを検知してブレ－キペダルへの電源供給を停止するものがある。そのため、制動灯が不灯になりＡＢＳ、ＥＳＰ（横滑り防止装置）、衝突被害軽減ブレーキシステム、ＥＺＧＯ（坂道発進補助装置）が機能しなくなってブレーキシステム異常の警告灯が点灯し、制動装置の保安基準に不適合状態となると共にブレーキペダルを踏んでもオートクルーズが解除できなくなる。
改善措置
全車両、ＡＢＳ ＥＣＵのソフトウェアを対策品に書き換える。
