Filing in context
This is the only filing in the archive that cites the Propulsion Power Supply (Battery) as the affected component. This filing is one of 41 Mitsubishi notifications from 2024 in this archive. For scale, 2,779 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 1 year.
Defect
On electric small trucks, an error in the VCU control software causes the system to incorrectly detect a communication error and shut down the high-voltage system as a safety measure. As a result, while the vehicle is in motion, the high-voltage battery charge level displayed in the instrument cluster may unexpectedly drop to 0%, and the vehicle becomes unable to continue driving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the VCU control software to the corrected specification.
