Defect

The transmission control computer contains a software program with improper control logic. During gear shifts or engine restart from EV operation, applying the brake firmly may prevent the engaged clutch from releasing. This causes engine speed to drop and, in the worst case, may result in engine stall.

Corrective action

Reprogram the transmission control computer with the corrected/updated software on all vehicles.
