Defect
A manufacturing defect in the backup power supply capacitor within the airbag controller may cause an internal short circuit. If power to the controller is interrupted during a collision, all airbags and seat belt pretensioners may fail to deploy.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the airbag controller with a non-defective unit.

状況
エアバッグコントローラにおいて、バックアップ電源用コンデンサの製造不良により、内部ショートが発生することがある。そのため、コントローラの電源が衝突時に遮断されると全てのエアバッグ及びシートベルトプリテンショナーが展開しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エアバッグコントローラを良品に交換する。
