Defect

At the rear wheel axle, the axle bolts securing the hub were improperly torqued during assembly. Driving vibration causes the bolts to loosen, resulting in component play and abnormal noise. Continued operation in this condition may allow the bolts to back out entirely, interfere with the hub, and lock the wheel.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the tightening condition of the left and right rear wheel axle bolts and retorque to the specified value.
