Defect
The hybrid battery tray on large touring hybrid buses has insufficient corrosion resistance. During service, the tray may corrode and develop holes, allowing water to enter the tray interior and contact the battery wiring connections. This may cause a short circuit and result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
All vehicles receive the following corrective actions. Because corrected parts require time to prepare, interim measures (items 2 and 3 below) are performed immediately, with the permanent fix applied once parts are available. 1. A floor panel is added to the bottom of the tray, and a seal and water shield are added to the lid. 2. The tray is inspected and replaced with a new unit if damage is found. 3. The wiring connections are inspected and replaced with new components if damage is found.

状況
大型観光ハイブリッドバスのハイブリッド用バッテリトレイにおいて、トレイの防錆性が不足しているため、使用過程で腐食して穴があくことがある。そのため、トレイ内部に水が侵入し、バッテリの配線接続部に水が付着することで短絡して火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、下記の対策を行う。なお、対策部品の準備に時間を要することから、暫定措置として下記2.3.の作業を行い、対策部品の準備が整い次第、恒久措置をおこなう。1.トレイ下部に床板、リッド部にシールおよび被水防止板を追加する。2.トレイを点検し、損傷している場合には新品に交換する。3.配線接続部を点検し、損傷している場合には新品に交換する。
