Defect

On road sweeper vehicles, the wiring harness for the work engine's starter motor is routed improperly, allowing heat from the engine exhaust manifold to melt the wiring insulation. Continued operation exposes bare conductors, which may short circuit. In the worst case, the wiring insulation may ignite and cause a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, add a complete bracket assembly and reroute the starter motor wiring. If the wiring insulation is already melted, replace the affected wiring with new parts.
