This filing is one of 22 Mazda notifications from 2020 in this archive. Defect
The lane departure warning system contains an improperly programmed control program for the lane departure suppression function. When the driver turns the lane departure warning OFF, the warning does not activate if the vehicle departs its lane while the lane departure suppression function is still active. This condition does not conform to Article 11 (Steering Device Standards) of the Road Transport Vehicle Act Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the lane departure suppression function control program with the corrected/updated software, and correct the lane departure warning activation conditions described in the owner's manual.
