Defect
The engine control computer uses an incorrect engine speed control strategy during startup. Combined with variation in oil pump performance and engine oil level, this may result in no oil pressure being generated. The oil pressure warning lamp illuminates, and continued idling under this condition can damage the bearings, producing abnormal noise and causing the engine to stop.
Corrective action
Reprogram the engine control software with a corrected program on all vehicles. On vehicles with a stored oil pressure warning lamp history, inspect for abnormal noise, vibration, oil condition, and the presence of metal wear particles. Replace the engine with a new unit if any abnormality is found.

状況
エンジン制御コンピュータにおいて、始動時の回転数制御が不適切なため、オイルポンプの性能ばらつきやエンジンオイルの量により、油圧が発生しないものがある。そのため、油圧警告灯が点灯し、そのままアイドル回転を続けると軸受部が損傷して、異音が発生するとともに、エンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御プログラムを対策プログラムに書き換える。なお、油圧警告灯点灯履歴があるものについて、異音・振動、オイル状態及びメタル摩耗粉の有無を点検し、異常が認められるものはエンジンを新品に交換する。
