Defect
On heavy-duty trucks and buses equipped with air suspension, the spring retaining the rear brake shoe is incorrectly specified. Vibration transmitted during driving causes the brake shoe to oscillate and strike the clip—the component that retains the adjuster controlling shoe clearance—deforming or breaking the clip. If the vehicle continues to be operated in this condition, shoe clearance increases and, in the worst case, rear brake braking force may decrease.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the spring retaining the rear brake shoe with a corrected part and replace the lower clip with a new part. The upper clip shall also be replaced with a new part if deformation or damage is found.

状況
エアサスペンションを装着した大型トラック・バスにおいて、リヤブレーキシューを固定しているスプリングの設定が不適切なため、走行時の振動入力によって当該シューが振動してクリップ(シュークリアランスを調整するアジャスターを保持している部品)を叩き、クリップが変形又は破損することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、シュークリアランスが増大し、最悪の場合、リヤブレーキの制動力が低下するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、リヤブレーキシューを固定しているスプリングを対策品に、車両下側のクリップを新品に交換する。なお、上側クリップについては、変形又は破損が認められた場合は新品に交換する。
