Defect
On emergency vehicles, the power switch of the beacon amplifier is improperly designed. When the switch is operated, it may remain in the depressed position and fail to return. As a result, the beacon amplifier may not activate, preventing the warning lights from illuminating and the siren from sounding.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the serial number of the beacon amplifier will be verified. If the affected unit is installed, the beacon amplifier will be replaced with a corrected part.
