Defect
On the side-mounted spare tire carrier used on medium-duty trucks, the welding of the winding mechanism is improper, resulting in significant variation in weld strength. Some units do not achieve a sufficient safety margin. If the tire is secured using excessive torque rather than the specified tightening method, the weld may detach and the spare tire may fall from the vehicle.
Corrective action
Replace the spare tire carrier on all vehicles with a corrected part. Notify customers of proper spare tire carrier handling procedures.

状況
中型トラックの横吊り式スペアタイヤキャリアにおいて ②巻き取り機構の溶接が不適切なため、溶接強度のばらつきが大きく、十分な安全率を確保できていないものがある。そのため、タイヤ固定時に正規の締付方法によらず過大なトルクで締め付けると溶接部が剥がれて、スペアタイヤが脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
・全車両、スペアタイヤキャリアを対策品に交換する。 ・お客様にスペアタイヤキャリアの取扱い方法についての注意喚起を行う。
