Defect

On medium-duty dump trucks, the bolts securing the spare tire carrier winch were improperly installed, resulting in insufficient torque and reduced clamping force. Continued use allows driving vibration to loosen the bolts, causing the winch and spare tire assembly to tilt. In the worst case, the bolts may disengage entirely, allowing the winch and spare tire assembly to fall from the vehicle and create a hazard for other traffic.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the tightening torque of the winch mounting bolts and retighten to the specified torque on any bolt found to be insufficient.

状況

中型ダンプのスペアタイヤキャリアにおいて、巻き上げ機固定用ボルトの取付けが不適切なため、締付けトルクが不足し、軸力が低下しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、走行時の振動等によりボルトが緩み、巻き上げ機及びスペアタイヤ(以下、「巻き上げ機等」という。)が傾き、最悪の場合、ボルトが外れ、巻き上げ機等が脱落し、他の交通の妨げとなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、巻上げ機固定用ボルトの締付けトルクを点検し、トルクが不足しているものは規定トルクで締付ける。
