Defect
On diesel engines, the engine protection control logic is improperly calibrated. When the accelerator is held wide open under no-load conditions, abnormal combustion may occur without the engine protection function activating. The resulting abnormal combustion raises cylinder pressure and, in the worst case, may cause engine damage.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control software with the corrected/updated software and clean soot accumulated in the engine and DPF (diesel particulate filter).

状況
ディーゼルエンジンにおいて、エンジンの保護制御が不適切なため、無負荷状態でアクセルを全開した際に燃焼異常が発生しても、エンジン保護機能が作動しない。そのため、燃焼異常により燃焼圧力が上昇し、最悪の場合、エンジンが破損するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御プログラムを対策プログラムに修正するとともに、エンジンおよびDPF(黒煙除去フィルタ)に堆積した煤を清掃する。
