Defect
On large trucks, improper assembly of the power take-off (PTO) unit left adhesive residue from corrosion-prevention tape on the shaft surface before the belt-drive pulley was installed. This residue reduces the clamping force of the pulley mounting bolts. Continued operation causes the mounting bolts to loosen and produces abnormal noise. In the worst case, the drive pulley may detach from the vehicle and become a hazard to other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect and clean the belt-drive pulley. If loosening of the mounting nuts is found, replace the complete PTO reverse unit with a conforming part.

状況
大型トラックにおいて、 ③駆動力取出し装置(PTO)の組付作業が不適切なため、シャフト部の表面に防錆対策用テープの接着成分が残ったままベルト駆動用プーリーが組み付けられたものがある。そのため、ベルト駆動用プーリーの取付ボルトの締付け力が不足し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、取付ボルトが緩み異音が発生し、最悪の場合、駆動用プーリーが脱落して、他の交通の妨げになるおそれがある。
改善措置
③全車両、ベルト駆動用プーリーを点検・清掃を行い、取付ナットに緩みがある場合は、PTOリバースユニット一式を良品に交換する。
