Defect

On large trucks, improper assembly of the front-front axle tie rod end clamp section on twin-steer vehicles results in insufficient tightening torque on the mounting bolts. Continued operation causes the mounting bolts to loosen and introduces play at the tie rod end. In the worst case, the tie rod end may pull out of the tie rod, resulting in loss of steering control.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, retighten the tie rod end clamp section to the specified torque.

状況

大型トラックにおいて、 ④前2軸車の前前軸タイロッドエンドのクランプ部の組付作業が不適切なため、取付ボルトの締め付けトルクが不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、取付ボルトが緩みタイロッドエンド部にガタが生じ、最悪の場合、タイロッドからタイロッドエンド部が抜けて、操舵不能になるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、タイロッドエンドのクランプ部を、規定トルクで再度締付ける。
