Defect

On large trucks, the center bearing retaining bracket in the drivetrain was improperly bent during manufacturing. Rotational vibration of the propeller shaft may cause cracks to develop in the bracket. Continued operation allows those cracks to propagate until the bracket fractures. In the worst case, the propeller shaft may detach, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the center bearing retaining bracket with the corrected part. If the bracket is already damaged, also replace the center bearing with a new unit.

状況

大型トラックの動力伝達装置において、センターベアリング固定金具の曲げ加工が不適切なため、プロペラシャフトの回転振動等により、当該固定金具に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、亀裂の進行により当該固定金具が破断し、最悪の場合、プロペラシャフトが脱落して走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、センターベアリング固定金具を対策品に交換する。 なお、当該固定金具が破損している場合は、センターベアリングを新品に交換する。
