Defect
On ladder fire trucks, the steering idler arm has insufficient strength. Repeated full-lock steering maneuvers can cause the arm to crack. Continued operation allows the crack to progress until, in the worst case, the arm fractures and the vehicle loses steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the idler arm assembly with the corrected part.

状況
はしご消防車において、ステアリングアイドラアームの強度が不足しているため、据え切り操作を繰り返すと、当該アームに亀裂が発生することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、最悪の場合、アームが折損し、操舵できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該アイドラアーム一式を対策品に交換する。
