Defect
On diesel engines, improper intake air volume control by the engine control computer causes fuel concentration inside the cylinders to become partially excessive, generating abnormal amounts of soot during combustion. When the exhaust valves open, soot enters and accumulates around the exhaust-side valve guides, restricting valve movement. This results in poor compression, reduced acceleration, and vehicle body vibration. In the worst case, the engine may stall while the vehicle is in motion.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, update the control software to the corrected program. Additionally, clean soot deposits from around the injectors and the exhaust-side valve areas.

状況
ディーゼルエンジンにおいて、エンジン制御コンピュータの吸入空気量制御が不適切なため、気筒内の燃料濃度が部分的に濃くなり、燃焼時に多く煤が発生することがある。そのため、排気バルブが開いた際に煤が排気側バルブガイド周辺に入り堆積して、バルブが動きにくくなり、圧縮不良による加速不良や車体振動が発生し、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、制御プログラムを対策プログラムに修正する。また、インジェクタおよび排気側のバルブ周辺に堆積した煤を清掃する。
