Defect
In the fuel injectors of gasoline engines, inadequate manufacturing controls have resulted in some injectors with perforated mesh sections in the internal filter. When foreign matter in the fuel lines enters the injector through the damaged filter, the injector malfunctions and fails to supply fuel properly, causing misfires and rough engine operation. In the worst case, the engine may stall during driving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel injectors with non-defective units.
