Filing in context
The Ignition Coil is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 4 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 40 Nissan notifications from 2016 in this archive. For scale, 1,081 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles.
Defect
The ignition coil used in turbocharged engines has insufficient durability. Repeated heat cycles from electrical operation cause internal elements to break down. Continued use may prevent the ignition coil from firing, causing engine misfire and poor acceleration. In the worst case, the engine may stall during operation and cannot be restarted.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected ignition coil with a corrected part.
