Defect
The position-retention spring inside the ignition switch was scratched during forming due to inadequate maintenance of the forming equipment. Repeated ignition key operation causes the spring to break. If a heavy keychain or multiple accessories are attached to the ignition key, vibration during driving may rotate the key away from the ON position, cutting vehicle power and stalling the engine. If a crash occurs in this condition, the airbag system will not deploy.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the ignition switch with a conforming replacement part.

状況
イグニッションスイッチのポジション保持用スプリングにおいて、成形設備のメンテナンスが不適切なため、成形時に傷がついたものがある。そのため、イグニッションキー操作の繰り返しによって当該スプリングが破損し、イグニッションキーに多数のキーホルダー等の重量物を装着していると、走行中の振動等によりイグニッションキーがＯＮ位置以外に回転し、車両電源が断たれてエンジンが停止するおそれがある。なお、この状態で事故を起こした場合、エアバッグが展開しない。
改善措置
全車両、イグニッションスイッチを良品と交換する。
