Defect
In the automated clutch system of the mechanical automatic transmission, the wiring routing for the actuator motor is improper. This allows the waterproofing grommet to shift, permitting water to intrude into the motor interior. The water causes poor brush sliding operation and illuminates a warning light. In the worst case, the brush may seize, preventing clutch operation and rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles (covering both conditions ① and ②), replace the actuator motor with a corrected part.
