Defect
Investigation of field-returned passenger-side airbag inflators by the parts manufacturer identified a decrease in propellant density that may lead to abnormal deployment. Although the root cause has not yet been identified, as a precautionary measure, all inflators of the same type manufactured up to a certain date will be replaced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected inflator with a new unit. All replaced parts will be collected for root cause investigation. Because replacement parts will take time to become available, as an interim measure, the passenger-side airbag function will be deactivated and a warning will be displayed on the passenger-side sun visor indicating that the airbag is inoperative.

状況
助手席用エアバッグのインフレータ(膨張装置)において、部品メーカーで市場回収品を調査した結果、異常展開に繋がるおそれがあるガス発生剤の密度低下が認められた。このため、原因は判明していないが、一定の期間までに製造した同タイプのインフレータについて、予防的措置として当該インフレータを新品に交換する。
改善措置
全車両、当該インフレータを新品に交換するとともに、交換部品については全数回収して原因調査を実施する。なお、交換用部品の準備に時間を要することから、部品が供給できるまでの暫定措置として、助手席用エアバッグの機能を停止するとともに、助手席サンバイザ部に当該エアバッグが作動しない旨の警告を表示する。
