Defect
On heavy-duty trucks, the output shaft of the automated mechanical transmission has insufficient strength, which may cause the shaft to crack. Continued use allows the crack to propagate and, in the worst case, the output shaft may fracture, causing the propeller shaft to detach or damaging surrounding components and producing secondary failures.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the complete rear housing assembly with one incorporating a corrected output shaft.

状況
大型トラックにおいて、機械式自動変速機のアウトプットシャフトの強度が不足しているため、当該シャフトに亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該シャフトの亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、アウトプットシャフトが破断し、プロペラシャフトが脱落又は周辺部品を破損させ二次的不具合を生じるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、対策品のアウトプットシャフトを組込んだリヤハウジング一式に交換する。
