Defect
The accelerator sensor, which detects accelerator pedal depression, may experience insufficient contact force at its internal contact points when the pedal is pressed with a lateral load. This causes the sensor signal to output incorrectly, activating fail-safe control that restricts throttle valve opening angle and results in poor acceleration. Additionally, because the intake air volume setting during fail-safe control is inappropriate, if deposits have accumulated on the throttle valve, airflow at near-idle engine speeds becomes insufficient and the engine may stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the accelerator pedal assembly with a corrected part and reprogram the engine control unit.

状況
アクセルペダルの踏み込み量を検知するアクセルセンサにおいて、アクセルペダルを横方向に押す力が働くような踏み方をした場合に、当該センサ内部の接点の接触力が不足して接触不良を起こすことがある。このため、当該センサ信号が出力不良となることで、フェールセーフ制御が作動してスロットルバルブ開度を制限し、加速不良となるおそれがある。また、フェールセーフ制御時の吸入空気量設定が不適切なため、スロットルバルブに汚れが堆積している場合に、アイドル回転付近での空気量が不足して、エンストに至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該アクセルペダル一式を対策品と交換するとともに、エンジン制御コンピュータのプログラムを修正する。
