Defect
The sound-deadening material in the engine compartment has insufficient clearance from the exhaust manifold, and a portion of the material has no attachment points. Heat from the exhaust manifold may cause that section of the material to deform and move closer to the manifold. Continued use in this condition may cause the material to scorch. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the sound-deadening material with the corrected part and install a newly designed heat shield.

状況
エンジンルーム内の遮音材において、エキゾーストマニホールドとの隙間が少なく、かつ、遮音材に固定点のない部分があるため、当該遮音材の一部が熱の影響により変形してエキゾーストマニホールドと接近することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、エキゾーストマニホールドの熱により焼損し、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、遮音材を対策品に交換するとともに、遮熱板を新規に取り付ける。
