Defect
The pre-collision safety system uses millimeter-wave radar for obstacle detection. The obstacle detection software is inadequate and may, in rare cases, misidentify scattered radar reflections as a forward obstacle when no collision risk is present. This causes the automatic brake system to activate unexpectedly, resulting in sudden unintended braking.
Corrective action
Reprogram the obstacle detection software in the affected control unit on all vehicles.

状況
前方障害物衝突軽減装置（プリクラッシュセーフティシステム）において、ミリ波レーダーによる障害物検知ソフトが不適切なため、乱反射したミリ波情報を稀に前方障害物と誤認識し、衝突の可能性がないのに自動ブレーキが作動して、予期せぬ急制動がかかるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該コンピュータの障害物検知ソフトを修正する。
