Defect

On vehicles modified to operate on rail tracks, the propeller shaft was assembled with a mounting angle exceeding the design specification due to inadequate design consideration during development. This subjects the propeller shaft to excessive load during operation, causing cracks to develop. Continued use can result in fracture of the shaft, and in the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, remove the caster plate and install the corrected part (flat plate). Also replace the propeller shaft with a conforming part.
