Defect
On large and medium buses, a piston not in the correct assembled condition may have been installed in the hand control valve that applies the parking brake. Continued use in this condition may cause a delay in parking brake application or a complete loss of parking brake effectiveness. In the worst case, the vehicle may roll away.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the hand control valve piston. If the piston is not in the correct assembled condition, replace the hand control valve with a conforming unit.

状況
大・中型バスにおいて、駐車ブレーキを作動させるハンドコントロールバルブに正規組立状態にないピストンが組み込まれた可能性がある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、駐車ブレーキに作動遅れが生じ、又は、駐車ブレーキが効かず、最悪の場合、車両が動き出すおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ハンドコントロールバルブのピストンを点検し、正規組立状態にないものはハンドコントロールバルブを良品に交換する。
