Defect
The engine ECU contains an improperly calibrated control program. When the air conditioning is active and the vehicle is maneuvered at very low speed without pressing the accelerator pedal—such as during parking—the brake booster's vacuum supply becomes insufficient. This increases the brake pedal effort required and extends stopping distance.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine ECU with the corrected/updated software. As an interim measure pending parts availability, all owners are requested to turn the air conditioning OFF when moving the vehicle at very low speed with minimal accelerator input, such as when parking.

状況
エンジン制御用コンピュータ(エンジンECU)において、制御プログラムが不適切なため、エアコンを作動させた状態で、アクセルペダルを踏まずハンドルを操作しながら車を移動させた場合(例:車庫入れ時など)、ブレーキ倍力装置の負圧が不足し、ブレーキペダル踏力が増大し、制動距離が延びるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジンECUのプログラムを対策プログラムに最新化する。 なお、改善措置用部品の供給に時間を要することから、当面の暫定措置として、 全ての使用者に対し、車庫入れ時など極低速でほとんどアクセルペダルを踏まず車両を移動するような状況では、エアコンをOFFして頂くよう要請する。
