Defect

On heavy-duty tractors, a defect in the brake valve manufacturing process causes the brake pedal-actuated plunger to become misaligned, resulting in poor sliding operation. Continued use in this condition causes the brake valve to fail to return fully, leaving the brakes in a dragging state. In the worst case, this may lead to a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the brake valve for return operation. If sluggish return is detected, replace the brake valve with a conforming unit.

状況

大型トラクタにおいて、ブレーキバルブの製造工程が不適切なため、ブレーキペダルにより作動するプランジャーが芯ずれにより摺動不良となるものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ブレーキバルブの戻りが悪くブレーキが引きずった状態となり、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ブレーキバルブの戻りを点検し、渋りが認められた場合は良品のブレーキバルブに交換する。
