Defect
During the manufacturing process, some accelerator cables were assembled with a resin tube that is shorter than the specified length. Continued use damages the inner cable. In the worst case, operating the accelerator pedal will not increase engine speed, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
Replace the accelerator cable on all vehicles with a conforming part.
