Defect
Due to inadequate control of the manufacturing process for the steering gear assembly, the nut securing the gear that transmits steering force may be insufficiently torqued. Continued use in this condition allows the nut to loosen, which may result in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the torque condition of the nut. If loosening is found, replace the bevel gear assembly with a conforming part.

状況
かじ取り装置において、製造工程の管理が不適切なため、操舵力を伝える歯車を固定するナットの締付けが不十分なものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ナットが緩み、操舵不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ナットの締付け状態を点検し、緩みが認められた場合は良品のベベルギヤに交換する。
