Defect
Improper installation of the steering joint shaft into the power steering unit resulted in some units with insufficient engagement depth between the shaft and the unit. Continued use causes the shaft to wear until it no longer engages, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
Replace the joint shaft assembly on all vehicles with a corrected part.

状況
ステアリングのジョイントシャフトのパワステユニットへの挿入作業が不適切なため、 当該シャフトと当該ユニットとの噛み合い代が不十分なものがある。そのためそのまま使 用を続けると、当該シャフトが摩耗して噛み合わなくなり、ハンドル操作ができなくなる おそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ジョイントシャフト一式を対策品と交換する。
