Defect

The electrical wiring routed to the headlight control switch was manufactured with insufficient slack. During assembly, the wiring was routed under excessive tension. When the headlight beam select switch is operated, the terminal joint cannot follow the movement, increasing contact resistance and causing the terminal to overheat and melt the coupler. In the worst case, the low-beam headlights may fail to illuminate.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace only the low-beam terminal wiring with a longer wire and secure it with a cable tie. Where the coupler has already melted, replace the headlight control switch and coupler with new parts.

状況

前照灯操作スイッチに接続する電気配線の配索長さに余裕が少ない設定のため、配索作業で配線を張り過ぎたものがある。そのため、前照灯の切替えスイッチを操作した際に、端子結合部が追従できずに動いて接触抵抗が増え、端子が発熱してカプラーが溶け、最悪の場合、ロービームが不灯となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ロービーム端子のみ長い配線に交換し、結束バンドで固定する。なお、接続カプラーが溶損しているものは、前照灯操作スイッチとカプラーを新品に交換する。
