Defect
The wiring terminals in the headlight control switch have an improper surface treatment. When the headlight selector is operated, movement at the terminal mating section increases contact resistance. In the worst case, the connector coupler melts, causing a continuity failure and rendering the headlights inoperative. (Note: This notification adds newly identified subject vehicles to the recall filed on September 6, 2001, under notification number 769.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the control switch with a corrected part and replace the female wiring terminals for the headlight circuit with serviceable parts. If the coupler is damaged, replace it with a serviceable part as well.

状況
灯火装置において、前照灯操作スイッチ部の配線用端子の表面処理が不適切なため、前 照灯の切り替え操作を行うと当該端子の嵌合部が動くことにより接触抵抗が増大するもの があり、最悪の場合、接続カプラーが溶けて導通不良となり、前照灯が不灯となるおそれ がある。 (備考) 本届出は、平成13年9月6日「届出番号769」のリコール届出にあらたに対象車を追加する ものである。
改善措置
全車両、操作スイッチを対策品と交換するとともに前照灯用配線のメス端子を良品と交 換する。 なお、カプラーに損傷がある場合はカプラーを良品と交換する。
