Defect

During the field remedy conducted under recall notification No. 1821, the bolt tightening procedure used when replacing the lower arm or lower arm ball joint was improper, resulting in insufficient bolt clamping force on some vehicles. Continued use allows the bolt to loosen and, in the worst case, fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the tightening condition of the bolt. If a gap exists between the bolt and the lower arm surface, or if the bolt has fallen out or fractured, replace the entire lower arm assembly with a new one. If no gap is present between the bolt and the lower arm surface, retighten the bolt to the specified torque.

状況

リコール届出番号1821の市場措置において、ロアアーム、またはロアアームボールジョイントを交換した場合のボルトの締め付け方法が不適切なため、ボルトの締め付け力が不足するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ボルトが緩み、最悪の場合、当該ボルトが折損し、走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ボルトの締め付け状態を点検し、当該ボルトとロアアーム表面に隙がある、または当該ボルトが脱落や折損している場合は、ロアアーム一式を新品と交換する。なお、当該ボルトとロアアーム表面に隙がない場合は、規定のトルクで締め付ける。
