Defect
The wiring routing of the fuel pump electrical harness inside the fuel tank is improper, causing the negative wire to contact the terminal of the positive wire on some vehicles. Engine vibration can wear through the negative wire's insulation, resulting in a short circuit that blows the fuse and stalls the engine. In addition, the brake lights, turn signals, speedometer illumination, and horn may all become inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel pump negative wire with a new part and reroute the wiring.

状況
燃料タンク内の燃料ポンプ電気配線の配索が不適切なため、マイナス配線がプラス配線の端子と干渉するものがある。そのため、エンジン振動によりマイナス配線の被膜が剥がれて短絡し、ヒューズが切れてエンジンが停止するとともに、制動灯、方向指示器及び速度計照明の不灯並びに警音器が不鳴となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、燃料ポンプのマイナス配線を新品と交換し、配索を変更する。
