Defect
In large touring buses, the variable-nozzle turbocharger fitted to the engine has turbine blades with insufficient strength. Resonance at high RPM can cause the turbine blades to fracture. Continued use after fracture results in white smoke and loss of power output, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
Replace the affected turbocharger on all vehicles with the corrected part and reprogram the control software.

状況
大型観光バスの原動機の可変ノズル付過給機において、タービン翼の強度が不足しているため、高回転域での共振により、タービン翼が破損することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、白煙の発生及び出力不足になり、運行出来なくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該過給機を対策品と交換するとともに、制御プログラムを書き換える。
