Defect
An inadequate manufacturing process for the fuel tank results in improper geometry at the fuel pump mounting area on some units. Continued use causes the clamping force of the nuts securing the fuel pump to decrease. As a result, fuel may leak when the tank is full.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the fuel tank production lot and, if identified as affected, replace the fuel tank assembly with a conforming part.
