Defect

The engine rear support has insufficient strength. Repeated high-frequency turning maneuvers may cause a crack to develop in the support. Continued use allows the crack to propagate until the support fractures, causing the engine to shift from its mounted position. In the worst case, the propeller shaft universal joint breaks and detaches, leaving the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the engine rear support. If a defective part is found, replace the support with the corrected part and replace the propeller shaft universal joint with a new part. On vehicles receiving a new support, also replace the engine under cover and grease supply line with the revised-shape parts.

状況

エンジンリアサポートの強度が不足しているため、旋回頻度の高い走行を繰り返した場合等に、当該サポート部に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると亀裂の進行により当該サポートが破断して、エンジン搭載位置にずれが生じ、最悪の場合、プロペラシャフトのユニバーサルジョイント部が破損、脱落し、走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジンリアサポートを点検し、不具合品が装着されている場合は当該サポートを対策品と交換し、プロペラシャフトユニバーサルジョイントを新品と交換する。また、サポートを交換するものは、エンジンアンダーカバー及び給脂配管を形状変更品と交換する。
