Defect

The electrical wiring routed inside the instrument cluster was improperly assembled. When the steering wheel is slid to its fully forward position, the wiring contacts the tachograph mounting bracket, which may damage the wiring. Continued operation in this condition can cause a short circuit or broken wire in the affected wiring and, in the worst case, may result in headlight failure or the engine being unable to start.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, correct the wiring routing and replace the tachograph mounting bracket with a corrected part to ensure adequate clearance between the wiring and the bracket. If the wiring is damaged, repair it.

状況

メータクラスタ内の電気配線の取り回しが不適切なため、ステアリングホイールの位置を最前方へスライドさせると、当該配線が運行記録計の取付け金具と干渉し、当該配線が損傷するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用すると、当該配線がショート、又は切断して、最悪の場合、前照灯が不灯になる、又はエンジンが始動不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該配線の取り回しを修正するとともに運行記録計の取付け金具を対策品と交換し、当該配線と運行記録計の取付け金具との隙間を確保する。なお、当該配線が損傷している場合には、補修する。
