Defect
The bush material used in the head idler gear that drives the engine camshaft is improper, causing the bush to wear prematurely and develop excessive play between the bush and the fixed shaft. Continued use generates excessive stress at the base of the shaft flange, which may fracture the flange and cause the gear to interfere with surrounding components, producing abnormal noise and engine oil leaks. In the worst case, the gear disengages entirely, causing the engine to stall and become unable to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the complete gear assembly and replace the fixed shaft with a new unit.

状況
原動機のカムシャフト駆動用ヘッドアイドラギヤのブッシュの材質に不適切な ものがあるため、ブッシュが早期に摩耗してブッシュと固定シャフトの間にガタ が生じるものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、シャフトつば部の付 け根に過大な応力が発生することがあり、つば部が破損してギヤが周辺部品と干 渉し、異音が発生する。又はエンジンオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、当該ギヤの噛 み合いが外れて、エンジンが停止し再始動不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ギヤ一式を良品と交換するともに、固定シャフトを新品と交換する。
