Defect

On diesel engines, the maximum engine speed setting is incorrect, resulting in excessive load on the crankshaft No. 3 main journal at peak engine speed. This causes the journal bearing to shift out of position and block the oil passage, leading to abnormal noise at the No. 3 connecting rod bearing due to inadequate lubrication. Continued use may cause engine component damage and render the vehicle inoperable. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reduce the maximum engine speed setting and replace the engine oil with new oil.

状況

ディーゼルエンジンにおいて、エンジン最高回転数の設定が不適切なため、エンジン最高回転域でのクランクシャフト3番メインジャーナル部への負荷が高くなっており、ジャーナルベアリングが位置ずれを起こし、油路をふさぐと、3番コンロッドベアリング部にて、潤滑不良による異音が発生するおそれがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、エンジン部品が破損し走行不能となり、最悪の場合、火災にいたるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジン最高回転数を低減するとともに、エンジンオイルを新品と交換する。
