Defect
The rear axle swing stopper was manufactured with insufficient strength. When the vehicle is operated on rough or sloped surfaces and a steering input is applied while the swing stopper is in contact with the axle, the stopper may deform. When the steering wheel is then turned to its maximum angle, the deformed stopper may contact the tire and, in the worst case, cause a tire puncture.
Corrective action
Apply the following corrections according to vehicle type: (1) Reroute the steering angle sensor harness and add a reinforcement plate to the swing stopper by welding. (2) Cut the existing swing stopper and weld a corrected swing stopper in its place. (3) Replace the rear axle mounting plate, bolts, washers, and nuts with corrected parts.

状況
リヤアクスル揺動ストッパの強度が不足しているため、凹凸路や坂路で走行中に、揺動ストッパとアクスルが接触した状態でステアリング操作を行うと揺動ストッパが変形することがある。そのため、ハンドルを最大操舵角まで切ったとき、当該ストッパとタイヤが接触して、最悪の場合、タイヤがパンクするおそれがある。
改善措置
車両型式に応じて次の対策を行う。 ①操舵角センサハーネスの取り回しを変更し、揺動ストッパに補強板を追加溶接する。 ②既存の揺動ストッパを切断し、対策した揺動ストッパを追加溶接する。 ③リヤアクスル取付プレート、ボルト、ワッシャ及びナットを対策品に交換する。
