Defect
In the power transmission system, the weld joining the propeller shaft pipe to the spline shaft has insufficient fatigue strength. Repeated aggressive acceleration from a stop or on an incline may initiate a crack at the weld. Continued operation can propagate the crack until the propeller shaft fractures and, in the worst case, the vehicle becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the complete propeller shaft assembly with a corrected part. Because full supply of corrected parts requires time, as an interim measure, inspect the weld area of the propeller shaft and replace any unit found to have a crack with a corrected part.

状況
動力伝達装置において、推進軸のパイプとスプラインシャフトの溶接部の耐久強度が不足しているため、急発進、又は登坂での発進を繰り返し過度に行うと当該部に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、推進軸が折損して走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、推進軸一式を対策品と交換する。 なお、対策品の全数供給に時間を要するため、当面の暫定措置として、推進軸の当該部を点検し、亀裂がある車両については対策品と交換する。
