Defect
The engine control module software is incorrectly programmed, causing insufficient airflow during high-speed deceleration. This results in misfired fuel combusting inside the front catalytic converter. Separately, uneven exhaust flow distribution within the exhaust manifold causes localized overheating inside the front catalyst. Repeated exposure to high thermal loads causes the catalyst to degrade and may result in internal damage.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control module software and inspect the catalyst for damage. If damage is found, replace the exhaust manifold-integrated front catalytic converter with a new unit. On vehicles equipped with an internal flow straightening plate, replace the exhaust manifold-integrated front catalytic converter with the corrected part on all vehicles regardless of whether damage is present.

状況
①原動機制御コンピュータのプログラムが不適切なため、高速走行中の減速時に空気量が不足して失火した燃料が前側触媒部で燃焼する。または、エキゾーストマニホールド内部の排気流れに偏りがあるため、前側触媒内部が部分的に高温となる。そのため、当該触媒内部が高温の熱負荷を繰り返し受けて熱劣化し、損傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、当該プログラムを変更すると共に、触媒の損傷状態を点検し、異常がある場合はエキゾーストマニホールド一体前側触媒を新品と交換する。なお触媒内部に整流板を設けている車両については、異常の有無に関わらず、全車両、エキゾーストマニホールド一体前側触媒を対策品と交換する。
