Defect
On the catalytic converter, the weld method used at the exhaust pipe connection flange is improper, resulting in insufficient strength. Continued use subjects the weld to vibration from driving and engine operation, causing cracks to develop. In the worst case, exhaust gas may leak, increasing exterior noise levels.
Corrective action
Replace the catalytic converter on all vehicles with a corrected part.

状況
触媒コンバータにおいて、排気管と接続するフランジ部の溶接方法が不適切なため、強度が不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、走行中の振動やエンジンの振動により当該溶接部に亀裂が発生し、最悪の場合、排出ガスが漏れて騒音が増大するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、触媒コンバータを対策品と交換する。
